From June 8 to 9, 2026, the 4th International Workshop on Methane Observations and Quantification was successfully held at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). The workshop was hosted by HKUST and organized by the HKUST Institute for Space Science and Technology. It was co-organized by several authoritative institutions, including the China University of Mining and Technology, the United Nations Environment Programme's International Methane Emissions Observatory (IMEO), the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) Beijing Representative Office, the International Society for Atmospheric Environmental Remote Sensing, the Beijing-Hong Kong Talent Exchange Center, and StarWise, an HKUST-incubated enterprise.
Through this conference, StarWise engaged in deep discussions with global research institutions, international organizations, and industry partners on the latest advancements in methane monitoring and quantification technology. From June 12 to 13, 2026, Xu Weifan, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of StarWise, was invited by the Hong Kong Investment Corporation Limited (HKIC) and investment firm Gobi Partners to attend the 2026 BAAI Conference in Zhongguancun, Beijing. During the "Large Model Industry Forum" roundtable discussion, Xu exchanged ideas with representatives from HKIC and Gobi on topics such as corporate globalization, overseas technology expansion, and industry-coordinated innovation. Drawing from StarWise's practical experience in satellite remote sensing, AI, and climate technology, Xu shared the opportunities and challenges faced by Chinese tech enterprises when expanding into international markets.

On June 17, 2026, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, in conjunction with the People's Government of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, hosted a series of National Low Carbon Day activities at the Liyuan Resort in Nanning. StarWise Information Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was invited to exhibit at the event. During the event, StarWise highlighted the "MUSICO" (Multi-channel Ultra-spectral Imaging Camera for Orbits) camera—a project led and developed by HKUST with the support and participation of StarWise. Relying on advanced atmospheric reflectance spectroscopy analysis technology, the camera can achieve high-precision monitoring and quantification of greenhouse gas concentrations.
